1) What is the difference between Eaton DS200EK1 and DS200EK2?
Contact count is the only difference. DS200EK1 gives you one auxiliary contact, DS200EK2 gives you two. Order the EK2 when you need two separate signals off the same disconnect, for example one to a PLC input and one to a remote indicator light. Both carry the same 30-800A, 600V rating.
2) What does an auxiliary contact kit on a safety switch actually do for me?
It gives you an electrical signal that follows the switch blade position, so a control system or remote panel knows whether the disconnect is open or closed. Typical uses are interlocking a motor starter, shutting down equipment when someone opens the local disconnect, or lighting a status indicator at a control room. The DS200EK kit adds that signalling to an Eaton safety switch that did not ship with it.
3) Is the Eaton auxiliary contact kit UL Listed for an inspected commercial job?
UL Listed, yes. That matters on institutional and commercial work where the AHJ wants field-added accessories to be a listed part from the switch manufacturer rather than a shop-built solution. It is rated for 600V service.
