Passage only. The 8104 Quincy is non-keyed and has no cylinder and no privacy button, so the latch retracts from either side at all times. Use it on hallways, closets, pantries, and any door in a fleet turnover that shouldn't be lockable. For a bedroom or bathroom you want the privacy version instead, and for an entry you want a keyed function.

Use the 8104 where the door actually swings and latches and the D12036PD where it does not.
