1) Will the Emtek Diamond crystal privacy knob fit my existing door prep?
If the door has the standard 2-1/8 inch cross bore, yes. The Emtek Diamond crystal privacy knobset drops into a 2-1/8 inch bore standard prep, and the latch is adjustable for either a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset. One exception: the STRETTO rosette needs a 1-1/4 inch diameter bore and a 2-hole door prep for the thumbturn privacy, so it is not a straight drop-in on a standard single-bore prep.
2) Which backset do I order for an Emtek crystal knob privacy set?
Backset is a required choice, 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inches. Measure from the door edge to the center of the bore hole: residential interior doors are usually 2-3/8, and 2-3/4 shows up on heavier or commercial-prepped doors. The standard latch supplied is the 2-3/8 inch version, so 2-3/4 has to be specified.
3) Does the Emtek Diamond privacy knob come with a latch and strike, or do I buy those separately?
It ships as a complete set including the latch and strike plate, so nothing extra is needed to hang it on a prepped door. The latch faceplate can be had round corner or square corner to match the mortise already cut in the door edge.
