Emtek Jasper Cabinet Pull, Schaub Collection

Measure center of hole to center of hole, then match it. The Jasper is made in 3-1/2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 inch center-to-center, so it drops straight onto an existing bore pattern at any of those spacings with no new holes. Nothing smaller than 3-1/2 inches, though, so the 3 inch spacing found on a lot of older kitchen and bath cabinets will not reach. If your fronts are drilled at 3 inches, the Trimco 553 drawer pull is made at that spacing.

The Emtek 8668 Jasper is a brass cabinet pull whose smallest spacing is 3-1/2 inch center to center, with a 1-3/8 inch projection and industrial modern styling. Deltana's SBP35 Modern Square Bar Pull is a heavy-duty solid brass pull at that same 3-1/2 inch center to center, so it lands on drilling laid out for the smallest Jasper. The difference is profile and range: the SBP35 is a square bar at a single spacing, while the Jasper carries one design from 3-1/2 inch up through 12 inch center to center for a run that mixes drawer widths.

The Emtek 8668 Jasper begins at 3-1/2 inch center to center, so 3 inch drilling will not take it without new bores. Trimco's 553 Series drawer pulls are built at 3 inch center to center and sit on the existing holes. Schaub's 10010 Sabre is also a 3 inch center to center part, but it is an edge pull rather than a face-mounted drawer pull, so confirm the mounting style before ordering it against a standard drawer front.

The Emtek 8668 Jasper is offered at 4 inch center to center within its 3-1/2 inch to 12 inch range. Omnia's 1968/102 is a modern cabinet pull in forged solid brass built specifically at 4 inch center to center spacing. Trimco's 562 Series drawer pulls also list a 4 inch ctc option alongside 3-1/2 inch and 96 mm. All three land on the same two-hole layout at 4 inch, so the choice comes down to profile and finish rather than drilling.

Projection is 1-3/8 inches. That is on the deeper end for a cabinet pull, which buys you finger room on a heavy drawer or a gloved hand on a shop cabinet, and it also means the pull reaches further into the aisle on a run of drawers in a tight galley or a narrow butler's pantry. If you need it to sit closer to the face, the Omnia 1970 projects 1-1/4 inches and the Omnia 1969 and 1971 project 1-3/16 inches.

Brass, and brass is the substrate under the finish as well, not a coating over steel or zinc. That matters in a bath or a coastal kitchen, where a plated steel bar tends to give up at the screw holes first. If you specifically want steel instead, the Orca Hardware CK-12001 T-pull bar is steel with a 2 inch bar width in satin nickel, and the Deltana SBP35 is another solid brass option at 3-1/2 inch.

Emtek specifies the Jasper as residential hardware: unit kitchens, baths, built-ins and millwork in houses and apartments. It is solid brass, so it holds up in a rental turn, but it is not a commercial casework line. For institutional or commercial drawer fronts, Trimco's drawer pulls are the commercial-line alternative, the 553 at 3 inch center-to-center and the 562 at 3-1/2 inch, 4 inch and 96mm.

Not on the same drilling. The Orca CK-15030 is a round cabinet knob at 1-1/4 inch diameter, the CK-16030 is the round ring version at the same 1-1/4 inch diameter, and the CK-17025 is the Blackcomb square knob at 25 mm diameter. All three are cabinet knobs, mounted at a single point, while the Emtek 8668 Jasper is a two-post cabinet pull spanning 3-1/2 inch to 12 inch center to center. Substituting a knob leaves the second bore in the drawer front open. They are commonly specified together on the same job, knobs on doors and pulls on drawers, but one does not replace the other in an existing hole pattern.

The spacings overlap but the mounting does not. Schaub's Sabre parts are edge pulls: the 10010 at 3 inch center to center, the 10011 at 4 inch, and the 10012 at 5 inch. They are made for the edge of a door or panel, typically on sliding, pocket, or flush applications where nothing can stand off the face. The Emtek 8668 Jasper is a face-mounted brass cabinet pull with a 1-3/8 inch projection at 4 inch and 5 inch center to center among its sizes. Matching numbers on center will not make an edge pull work on a standard drawer front.

The Emtek 8668 Jasper runs out to 10 inch and 12 inch center to center in the same brass and the same six finishes as its 3-1/2 inch drawer sizes, so the appliance panel can carry the identical part in a longer length. If a different look is wanted on the appliance, the Schaub 79-8 Steamworks is an 8 inch cabinet pull built as an appliance pull. Note the tradeoff: staying in the Jasper keeps one design across doors, drawers, and panels, while the 79-8 is a separate Schaub design that will read as its own element.

The Emtek 8668 Jasper is brass throughout, with Satin Nickel (US15) among its six finishes. Orca's CK-12001 T-Pull Bar is a steel pull in satin nickel with a 2 inch bar width, so it is the steel-bodied option in the same finish family. The two differ in substrate and in how they are sized: the Jasper is specified by center to center from 3-1/2 inch to 12 inch, while the CK-12001 is described by its 2 inch bar width, so check the mounting spacing against the drilling before mixing them in one run.

Six finishes: flat black US19, oil rubbed bronze US10B, polished chrome US26, polished nickel US14, satin brass US4 and satin nickel US15. Order by the US code rather than the name. Satin nickel and polished nickel read almost identically in a catalog photo and very differently on the wall, and US15 versus US14 is the only thing that settles it when you are matching cabinet pulls to levers, hinges and bath accessories specified earlier on the same job.

Twelve inch center-to-center is the longest Jasper, which covers wide drawer banks, pantry doors and tall panels. It is a residential cabinet pull rather than a dedicated appliance pull, so check the panel's drilled spacing before you commit. If you want a pull that is sold specifically for appliance duty, the Schaub 79-8 Steamworks is an 8 inch appliance pull.

A bar pull mounts through the face of the door or drawer and stands 1-3/8 inches proud, so it gives a full hand grip but it is something you brush past in a narrow run. An edge pull mounts at the edge of the front and sits nearly flush, which is the move on slab doors where you do not want hardware breaking the face, or in a passage tight enough that a projecting bar is a hazard. Flat black and oil rubbed bronze push it toward the industrial read, while satin brass and polished nickel soften it for a transitional room. It is not the pull to specify if you are matching Colonial or Victorian cabinetry.
