Falcon 031702-000 605 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Falcon 031702-000 outer rose fit any Falcon lock, or only certain ones?
The 031702-000 outer rose is built for the Falcon B Series lock line only. It is an OEM part matched to the original B Series mounting and dimensions, so it drops in without modification on a compatible B Series lock. If the lock on the door is another Falcon family, this rose is not the part to order.
2) What finishes does the Falcon 031702-000 B Series outer rose come in?
Five finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 613 oil-rubbed satin bronze, 625 bright chrome, and 626 satin chrome. For a property manager matching a floor of existing doors, 626 satin chrome is the usual commercial standard and 626 or 625 will sit closest to most stainless or chrome-trimmed openings. Order the BHMA number, not the color name, so the replacement matches the rest of the lock trim.
3) Is the outer rose the same as the inner rose on a Falcon B Series lock?
No. The 031702-000 is the exterior-facing rose only, the trim cover that sits against the door on the outside of the lock. The inside rose is a separate part number. If both sides are damaged or refinished, you need to source the inside piece separately to keep the finishes matched.
4) Can I replace a scratched rose on a Falcon B Series lock without pulling the whole lockset off the door?
The rose is a trim component, not part of the latching mechanism, so replacing it restores the finished appearance and the protective cover over the lock without changing the lock's function. It is specified as a direct drop-in that matches the original mounting, so no drilling or door modification is involved.
5) Does the Falcon 031702-000 include a lever, knob, or cylinder?
No. It is the outer rose alone, a replacement trim part. Levers, knobs, cylinders and the lock chassis are ordered separately. Buy this when the existing B Series lock works fine and only the rose is damaged, worn, or the wrong finish.
6) Is the Falcon 031702-000 rose a commercial part or residential-grade trim?
Commercial. It is part of Falcon's commercial mechanical lock line and is spec'd for the traffic you get in offices, schools, healthcare, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential, and municipal buildings. For an MRO buyer standardizing trim across a facility, it is the OEM piece rather than an aftermarket cover.
