Falcon A7805-RH – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Falcon A7805-RH come with the armor front?
No. The A7805-RH supplies the MA561 lock case body only. The armor front has to be ordered separately before you can put the assembly back together, so plan on sourcing that part in the same order if the old front is damaged or missing.
2) Falcon A7805-RH is listed as right hand - can I use it on a left-hand door?
The case is field reversible, so handing can be changed on site without special tooling. It ships configured for right-hand doors, which sets the latch bolt orientation out of the box; if your opening is left hand, you reverse the case during install rather than ordering a different part.
3) What exactly am I buying with the Falcon A7805-RH - a complete lock or just a part?
It is a replacement part, not a complete lockset. You get the MA561 lock case, the internal mechanism that drives the latch, for use inside a compatible Falcon mechanical lock assembly. Trim, cylinder and armor front are separate items.
4) Will the A7805-RH lock case fit my existing Falcon lock without re-prepping the door?
It is a genuine Falcon MA561 case built to keep the original fit and function inside compatible Falcon mechanical lock assemblies, so a like-for-like MA561 swap does not call for new door prep. What it will not do is drop into another manufacturer's mortise pocket, and Falcon lock families other than the ones that take an MA561 case are not covered.
5) I manage a building with several Falcon locks on the same doors - can I keep one A7805-RH case on the shelf for any of them?
Because the case reverses in the field, a single A7805-RH covers both right- and left-hand openings that use an MA561 case, which is what makes it practical to stock one spare instead of two. It only covers doors whose existing lock takes the MA561 case, so confirm that before standardizing on it as your shelf spare.
6) Is the Falcon A7805-RH rated for commercial traffic or is it a residential part?
Strictly a commercial component. Falcon builds the MA561 case to its commercial hardware standards for high-use openings, and it gets specified in offices, schools, healthcare, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential buildings and municipal facilities.
