2) How does the CG20 ground clip attach to a metal outlet box?
It is a spring steel clip that slides over the lip of a metal device box and pinches the bare ground wire against the box, bonding the box without a green screw or a tapped hole. Push the clip on over the wire with pliers or a screwdriver so the wire is trapped between the clip and the box edge.
3) Ground clip or green grounding screw for bonding a metal box?
A 10-32 green grounding screw needs a tapped hole in the box; the CG20 clip does not, so it is faster on boxes with no ground screw hole or when the hole is already used. The screw is the better choice when you need a removable, re-torquable connection or the box lip is obstructed.
4) Will a CG20 ground clip work on a plastic or nonmetallic device box?
No. The clip bonds by clamping onto the metal edge of a steel or cast box. Nonmetallic boxes are not bonded at all, so the ground wires are simply spliced and pigtailed to the device instead.
