1) Will the HALO 6100 baffle trim fit my existing 6-inch recessed cans?
The 6100 is a 6 inch diameter recessed trim, so it drops into standard 6 inch housings. What decides the look is which of the two supplied rings you use: a narrow 7.25 inch OD ring or a wide oversized 8.00 inch OD ring. If the old trim left a ragged cut or a paint halo around the opening, the 8.00 inch ring covers more ceiling than the 7.25 inch one.
2) Does the HALO 6100 recessed trim come with a bulb, or do I order lamps separately?
Lamps are not included. The 6100 baffle trim accepts halogen, incandescent, LED and CFL lamps, so you order the lamp to suit the job. On a multi-unit or office relamp that is usually the point: you can standardize the trim now and change lamp technology later without pulling the trims back out.
3) Can I use the HALO 6100 baffle trim on a 277V commercial circuit?
Yes. The 6100 trim carries a 120-277V rating, so it works on both residential 120V circuits and the 277V lighting circuits common in commercial buildings. That matters when you are buying one trim for a facility running both.
4) Does the HALO 6100 qualify for an ARRA Buy American project requirement?
No. The 6100 baffle trim is not ARRA compliant, so it will not satisfy a federally funded job carrying that requirement. On a government or institutional spec that names ARRA, this is the wrong part and you need a trim carrying that compliance.

6) What is the difference between the two HALO 6100 trim options, 6100BB and 6100WB?
Only the baffle color. Model 6100WB is a white baffle with white trim rings; 6100BB is a black baffle with white trim rings. Both use the same white rings, so the ceiling-facing ring matches either way. A black baffle sinks the aperture visually and cuts glare from the lamp in view, which is why it gets specified in retail and hospitality; white blends into a white ceiling.
7) Is the HALO 6100 trim rated for a covered porch or soffit, or indoor only?
Rated for indoor and outdoor installation locations, so a covered exterior soffit or porch application is within its listed use, not just interior ceilings. The housing behind it still governs the wet or damp location rating for the assembly.
8) Should I use a baffle trim or a reflector trim in an office ceiling?
A baffle is the glare-control choice. The 6100 uses a tapered metal baffle whose stepped interior absorbs stray light instead of bouncing it back out, so people at desks or screens see less of the lamp. A reflector trim does the opposite, pushing more lumens down onto the floor.
