Metallics F24 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics F24 hammer-on flange clip used for?
The F24 is a hammer-on flange clip, used to attach hangers or supports to the edge of a structural steel flange without drilling, welding, or shooting pins. It drives onto the flange and grips by spring tension, so it is the fast way to pick up loads off existing steel in an electrical rough-in.
2) What part number do I order for the Metallics bottom-mount hammer-on flange clip?
Order Metallics F24. That is the manufacturer part number for the bottom-mount hammer-on flange clip, and the clip is sold as that single model, so there is no size or finish option to specify on the order.
3) Does a hammer-on flange clip need any anchors, screws, or drilling to install?
No. The F24 clip is driven onto the steel flange with a hammer and holds by its own spring grip, so there are no anchors, screws, or drilled holes involved. Whatever threaded rod, wire, or hanger you are suspending from it is a separate item and is not supplied with the clip.
