Sta-Kon WT110M – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What terminals does the Sta-Kon WT110M crimp tool work with?
The WT110M hand tool is built for Sta-Kon non-insulated terminals and splices in the A, B and C wire ranges. It crimps A, B and C non-insulated terminals and splices, plus A and B non-insulated terminals. If you are working insulated (nylon or vinyl) terminals, this is the wrong tool - you need a crimper rated for insulated barrels.
2) Will the WT110M crimp insulated ring and fork terminals?
No. The WT110M is a non-insulated crimper only, covering A, B and C non-insulated terminals and splices. Insulated terminal barrels need a tool with insulated-grip nests sized to the plastic sleeve; crimping an insulated terminal in a non-insulated die will cut or distort the sleeve.
3) Is this a palm grip crimper or a long-handle plier style tool?
Palm grip. The WT110M uses a palm-grip handle with insulated grips, so it is worked in the hand rather than with two-handed plier leverage. That makes it easier in panel work and tight enclosures where you cannot swing a long handle, and the orange grips make it easy to spot on a crowded bench or in a tool bag.
4) What do the A, B and C designations mean on Sta-Kon terminals?
A, B and C are Sta-Kon's own wire-range color/letter codes for terminal barrel size, and the WT110M covers all three in the non-insulated line. You match the letter stamped on the terminal to the matching nest in the tool. If your terminals carry a letter outside A through C, this tool will not give you a proper crimp on them.
5) Do I need a separate tool for splices, or does the WT110M handle both terminals and butt splices?
Both, within the non-insulated line. The WT110M's application covers A, B and C non-insulated terminals and splices, so ring, fork and spade terminals and butt splices in those ranges all go in the one tool. No second crimper needed for the splice work on the same wire sizes.
6) Where is the Sta-Kon WT110M hand tool made?
The WT110M is manufactured in the United States. That matters on government, institutional and federally funded jobs where domestic-sourcing language appears in the purchase order or spec.
