Houzer BG-8760 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-8760 bottom grid fit?
The BG-8760 Wirecraft grid is sized for the large bowl of the Houzer PTD-6040 only. It is not a universal grid, so it won't sit correctly in the small bowl of that sink or in other Houzer models. If you're outfitting both bowls of a PTD-6040, you need a separate grid made for the smaller bowl.
2) Will a bottom grid keep my stainless sink from getting scratched up?
That's the main job of it. The BG-8760 holds pots and dishes off the sink floor so cookware and cutlery don't drag across the finish, and it cushions glass and china that gets set down hard. In a rental or multi-unit kitchen it also cuts down on the dish noise and rattling that comes with a stainless bowl.
3) Does the Houzer BG-8760 grid have feet so it doesn't sit directly on the sink?
Yes, it comes with protective plastic feet that hold the grid in place and keep it from sliding or drumming against the bowl while you wash. The feet are part of the grid, so there is nothing extra to buy or assemble.
4) What is the Houzer BG-8760 made of, and will it hold up to dish soap and food acids?
Stainless steel wire construction, which is why it stands up to constant water, food residue and household cleaners without rusting out the way a coated or plastic mat does. It's a kitchen sink accessory, and the stainless finish matches a stainless bowl visually.
5) What finish does the Houzer BG-8760 come in?
One finish only, satin stainless steel, so there is no finish decision to make when ordering. Order by part number BG-8760.
