1) Can the IDEAL IT1000MP cable mounting pad be used outdoors or in direct sun?
Only the black version. The IT1000MP-C0 is the UV-resistant black pad built to hold up to outdoor exposure; the natural-color IT1000MP-C has no UV rating stated and should be kept to indoor runs, enclosures and ceiling spaces.
2) Does the IDEAL 1 inch adhesive mounting pad hold on adhesive alone, or do I need to screw it down?
The rubber adhesive backing is meant to hold on its own once the surface is cleaned and the pad is pressed firmly to activate the bond. For overhead work, vibration, heavier bundles or anything critical, there is a center hole that takes a #6 screw as a mechanical backup. Screws are not supplied with the pads.
3) Can I add a cable tie to this pad after the wires are already run?
Yes. The IT1000MP pad has entry slots on all four sides plus a lead-in feature, so you can feed a tie in from whichever direction the cable run approaches and insert cable without pulling the bundle apart. That is what makes it workable in tight or hard-to-reach spots.
4) Will a 1 inch mounting pad damage data or low-voltage cable?

8) What surface prep do these adhesive pads need to stay stuck?
