Milwaukee 48-22-3100 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a Milwaukee INKZALL marker write on wet or oily surfaces?
That's what the INKZALL fine point is built for. The 48-22-3100 writes through dusty, wet and oily surfaces, and the tip is clog resistant so it keeps flowing after it's dragged across grit. Ink dries in seconds, so you're not smearing a stud mark with your glove on the way past.
2) Can I mark concrete and OSB with a fine point marker without wrecking the tip?
The INKZALL 48-22-3100 uses a durable tip made for writing on concrete, OSB and rough surfaces. Rough substrate is what shreds a standard office marker; this one is built to take it while still laying down a fine line for small numbers and dimensions.
3) Should I get the fine point INKZALL or a chisel tip for layout work?
Fine point is the one for legible detail: cut lists, dimensions, circuit numbers on a panel schedule, labeling conduit or device boxes. The 48-22-3100 is the fine point version. If your marks are big keep-off or stud-side call-outs meant to be read from across a room, a chisel or broad tip lays down more ink; this marker is the wrong choice for that.
4) Does the INKZALL marker clip to a hard hat?
There's a built-in hard hat storage clip on the 48-22-3100, so it rides on the brim rather than in a pocket, plus a lanyard hole if you'd rather tether it to a vest or tool bag.
5) Is Milwaukee INKZALL ink non-toxic for use in occupied buildings?
The ink is non-toxic, which is what matters when you're marking in an occupied unit, a school, or a healthcare corridor. The body is also anti-roll, so setting it down on a ladder tray or a windowsill doesn't send it to the floor.
6) What's the Milwaukee part number for the black fine point INKZALL?
Milwaukee 48-22-3100 is the black fine point INKZALL. That's the number to order or cross-reference by; the color is black and the tip is fine point.
