The RB863-SC takes 18 to 14 AWG stranded wire. Blue insulation is the standard color code for that 16-14 AWG band, and the barrel is sized to crimp anywhere in the 18-14 range, so one terminal covers most control wiring and 14 AWG branch circuit conductors. If you are terminating 12 or 10 AWG, you need a yellow-coded terminal instead.

Use an insulated-terminal crimper matched to the 18-14 AWG (blue) nest. A nylon insulated barrel is crimped through the insulation, so a plain non-insulated or open-barrel die will crush the nylon and leave an unreliable joint. Nothing is supplied with the terminal itself, so the crimp tool is a separate line on the order.
