1) What wire gauge does the Sta-Kon RB1717 fork terminal crimp onto?
The RB1717 is sized for 18 to 14 AWG stranded copper wire, which is the blue color code band on insulated terminals. If you are terminating 16 AWG control wire or 14 AWG fixture leads, this is the right barrel size. For 22-16 AWG you need a red terminal instead, and for 12-10 AWG a yellow one.
2) Can I use an insulated fork terminal instead of a ring terminal on a terminal block?
A fork (spade) terminal like the RB1717 slides in under a loosened screw without removing it, which is why electricians use them on terminal strips, panelboards, and control cabinets where pulling the screw out is a nuisance. A ring terminal has to be threaded over the stud, but it cannot vibrate free. For motor connections, vehicles, or anything with real vibration, use a ring. For fast service work on screw terminals, the fork wins.
3) Is the barrel on the Sta-Kon RB1717 copper or aluminum?
