Hammond Manufacturing CWJO8 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Hammond CWJO8 joiner used for?
The CWJO8 is a coupling joiner for 8 x 8 wireway, used to connect two lengths of 8 inch square wireway end to end. It is a connection accessory, not a wireway section itself, so you order it in addition to the wireway runs it joins.
2) Will the CWJO8 coupling fit 6x6 or 4x4 wireway?
No. The CWJO8 is sized for 8 x 8 wireway only. For a 6 x 6 or 4 x 4 run you need the joiner sized to that cross section; using an 8 inch coupling on a smaller body leaves gaps and will not close up properly.
3) Does the Hammond CWJO8 meet RoHS and REACH requirements for our facility spec?
Yes on both. The CWJO8 is listed RoHS compliant and REACH compliant, which covers the usual substance-restriction language in institutional and government purchase specs.
4) Is the Hammond CWJO8 coupling made in North America for domestic-content purchasing?
It is manufactured in Canada and is USMCA compliant, which is what most public-agency and federal-adjacent buyers need documented on trade-agreement sourcing.
5) What part number do I order for an extra 8x8 wireway coupling from Hammond?
Order Hammond Manufacturing CWJO8. That is the manufacturer part number for the extra joiner coupling in the 8 x 8 size, and it is sold as a single model with no finish or size options to specify.
6) How much does the Hammond CWJO8 wireway joiner weigh?
It weighs 1.8 lbs, light enough to handle overhead on a lift or ladder without a second set of hands while you land it on the wireway run.
