Kawneer KW037115-29 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Kawneer KW037115-29 lever handle fit a 1-3/4 inch door?
Yes. The KW037115-29 lever handle is built for 1-3/4 inch doors used with Kawneer latchlock hardware, which is the standard commercial aluminum door thickness. On a thinner door or a different thickness, the spindle engagement won't be correct and this is the wrong part.
2) How do I know if I need the left-hand or right-hand Kawneer latchlock lever?
The KW037115-29 is factory-configured left hand, and it is not field-reversible. Stand outside the door on the key side: if the hinges are on your left and the door swings away from you, that is left hand. Get the handing wrong and the lever will point the wrong way. Order the right-hand version instead if your opening reads right hand.
3) Is the KW037115-29 a complete lock or just the handle?
Just the lever handle. It is a replacement service part for an existing Kawneer latchlock assembly, not a lock body, cylinder, or latch. If the latch mechanism itself has failed, replacing this lever won't fix it.
4) Is this a genuine Kawneer part or an aftermarket lever?
Genuine Kawneer. The KW037115-29 is a factory service part, so it matches the original lever geometry and mounting on Kawneer latchlock hardware rather than relying on a generic pattern.
5) What finish is the KW037115-29 Kawneer lever, and will it match my other storefront doors?
It comes in black. If the rest of your Kawneer entrances are dark bronze or clear anodized, this lever will read as a mismatch on the opening, so check the finish on the doors beside it before ordering a fleet of them.
6) Is this Kawneer lever handle rated for commercial traffic or is it a residential part?
Commercial. The KW037115-29 is specified for commercial use and is the type of service part swapped into offices, schools, healthcare, retail, and multi-tenant buildings where a broken lever on an aluminum entrance needs to go back the way it came.
