Kawneer KW047795-29 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Kawneer KW047795-29 electric strike run on my 24V access control power supply?
Yes. The KW047795-29 AR 7130 Electric Strike 4.0 part is built for 24Vac or 12Vdc operation, so it drops onto either a 24Vac transformer or a 12Vdc filtered supply used with card readers, keypads, or intercom entry. Match the voltage you already have at the frame; no separate model is needed for the two options.
2) Is the KW047795-29 for center hung doors or offset pivot / butt hinge frames?
Center hung only. This AR 7130 Electric Strike 4.0 service part is made for center hung frame applications, where the strike pocket sits in the header at the door centerline. If your entrance runs offset pivots or butt hinges, the strike prep is in a different place and this part is the wrong one for that opening.
3) Is this a complete AR 7130 electric strike or just a replacement component?
It is a genuine Kawneer service replacement part for the AR 7130 Electric Strike 4.0, not a new complete strike assembly with trim and a power supply. Buy it to bring an existing AR 7130 4.0 installation back into service. Power supply, wiring, and any access control device are separate.
4) Will the KW047795-29 fit an older AR 7130 strike, or only the 4.0 version?
It is specified for the AR 7130 Electric Strike 4.0. Kawneer revised this strike across versions, so confirm the unit in your header is a 4.0 before ordering. Identify it from the existing strike body or the original entrance hardware schedule for the storefront.
5) I manage several buildings with Kawneer storefronts. Can I stock one part number for all the electric strikes?
Only for the ones that match. One KW047795-29 covers AR 7130 Electric Strike 4.0 units on center hung frames at 24Vac or 12Vdc in Black. Openings with a different Kawneer strike model, a different strike revision, or offset pivot framing need their own service part, so inventory by opening type rather than assuming one strike part fits the whole portfolio.
6) What finish does the Kawneer AR 7130 electric strike replacement part come in?
Black, a single option on this part. That matches dark bronze and black anodized Kawneer entrance framing, which is the common case on center hung aluminum storefront. If your frame is clear anodized or painted white, the strike hardware will still function identically but will not blend at the header.
7) Is this Kawneer strike part rated for a high-traffic commercial entrance?
Yes, it is a commercial-grade part, catalogued for commercial rather than residential use. That covers the openings it is normally found on: office lobbies, schools, healthcare, retail, and government entrances running Kawneer center hung aluminum doors with access control.
