Kawneer KW912254-29 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Kawneer KW912254-29 flush pull fit my Kawneer 990 or 1010 sliding door?
Yes. The KW912254-29 is built as the exterior flush pull for Kawneer 990 and 1010 Series sliding doors, so it drops into the factory prep on those systems without modifying the panel.
2) Is the KW912254-29 the pull for the active (operating) panel or the fixed panel?
It is the active leaf part. The KW912254-29 serves as the exterior flush pull on the operating panel of the sliding door, so if you are replacing hardware on a fixed panel this is not the piece you want.
3) Does this Kawneer pull mount on the outside or the inside of the door?
Exterior side. The KW912254-29 is the outside flush pull; interior hardware on the same opening is a separate service part.
4) What finish does the Kawneer KW912254-29 come in, and will it match my existing door frame?
Black, as supplied from the factory to coordinate with Kawneer door framing and hardware. It is offered in that single finish, so if your storefront is clear or dark bronze anodized the Black pull will read as a contrast rather than a match.
5) Is the KW912254-29 a genuine Kawneer part or an aftermarket copy?
It is a genuine Kawneer service part, made to the same dimensions and finish standard as the hardware originally shipped with the door, which is why it seats in the existing cutout.
6) I manage a building with several Kawneer sliding entrances. Can I stock this pull as a standard replacement?
Yes, if those entrances are 990 or 1010 Series. The KW912254-29 is the OEM replacement pull for the active exterior side across both series, so one part number covers that position on every matching opening in the portfolio.
7) Is this flush pull rated for a high-traffic commercial entrance?
Yes, it is a commercial-duty part intended for daily-use entries such as offices, retail storefronts, schools, healthcare entries and municipal buildings. The flush, low-profile body keeps the pull from catching in busy traffic lanes.
