Kwikset 942330-001 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the difference between the Master Card and the User Card for the Kwikset Unite lock?
The Kwikset 942330/942420 Unite construction card comes two ways, and you pick the one you need at order time: Master Card or User Card. Order the master when you need the higher-level construction credential for the opening, and the user card when you are handing out a credential for day-to-day entry. Both are smart cards for Kwikset Unite electronic locks, so the model number covers the pair and the card type is the only thing you select.
2) Is the Kwikset Unite construction card a residential or commercial product?
Kwikset classifies the 942330/942420 Unite construction card as residential door hardware. If you are speccing credentials for a multi-family or commercial access-control program with grade requirements, this is not the line to standardize on; it belongs with residential Kwikset Unite electronic lock installs.
3) Is the Kwikset 942330/942420 a lock, or just a credential card?
It is the credential only, not a lock. The 942330/942420 is a smart card that works with Kwikset Unite electronic locks, so you are buying a card to present at an already-installed Unite lock. The lock itself is a separate order.
