The 83028 is a T-shaped steel strike plate for the frame side of a residential deadbolt. It is the piece the deadbolt throws into, mortised into the jamb, not the lock itself. Steel construction, and it is a residential-duty part rather than a commercial one.

Not without cutting. The 83028 is a T strike, so the jamb mortise has to match that outline. The Deltana SP2753 is a steel deadbolt strike plate measuring 2-3/4 inches by 1-1/4 inches. That is the common residential strike footprint, so it is the one to quote when a property manager needs the face dimension confirmed before ordering across a run of doors. It serves the same deadbolt strike function as the Kwikset 83028, which is likewise a steel part.

No - the Codelocks ASA strike plate is an ASA-series strike, a larger commercial-format strike prep, and it is not interchangeable with the residential deadbolt strike the Kwikset 83028 covers. An ASA cutout is a different mortise entirely, so swapping one for the other means recutting the jamb. Order the Codelocks ASA only when the opening is already prepped for ASA; for a standard residential deadbolt bore, stay with the 83028 or the Deltana SP2753.
