Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford Lever Interior Dummy Handleset Trim

The Trafford 968TDL is interior trim only, and the lever does not function. It is sold as an interior pack, so a Kwikset exterior pack has to be ordered separately to make a working handleset. Buying just this part gets you the inside lever and rose, nothing that latches or locks.

No handing to specify. The Trafford lever is fully reversible and installs on either a right-hand or left-hand door, so one part covers both swings across a building.

Yes. The Trafford lever meets ADA/ANSI A117.1 requirements and the product is ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 certified. Note it is rated for residential use, so for a commercial opening with a Grade 1 spec on the drawings this is not the part.

The Kwikset 968TDL is interior trim for a Kwikset handleset, not a standalone dummy set for an inactive leaf. For a full dummy handleset, look at the Weslock 2815 Hillcrest Dummy Handleset with New Heaven Lever or the Weslock 6695 Belmont Dummy Handleset with Impresa Knob, both fitting 1-3/8 to 2 inch doors. Emtek also offers brass mortise dummy handlesets in the 3002 Memphis, 3004 Hamilton, 3005 Melrose and 3006 Manhattan styles.

The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford lever is non-functioning, so it will not latch or lock anything. For a keyed entry opening, the Schlage Residential F60 Addison Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Handleset with Accent Lever is Grade 2, entrance function, for doors 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch thick. Other keyed options include the Pamex FS7P31 Lexington Single Cylinder Handleset in entry function for the same 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch range, and the Sure-Loc Madison keyed entry handleset with adjustable backset.

The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford is a non-functioning interior lever pack for use with Kwikset handlesets, so the closest like-for-like is another dummy-function handleset with a lever: the Weslock 2815 Hillcrest Dummy Handleset with New Heaven Lever, in the Premiere Essentials Series, is listed as dummy function for doors 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch thick. If a knob grip suits the door instead, the Weslock 6695 Belmont Dummy Handleset with Impresa Knob is also dummy function for the same 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch thickness range.

No. The Schlage Residential JE285 Barcelona with Seville lever is a non-keyed entry handleset in entrance function, Grade 2, for doors 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch - the lever turns and operates a latch, it simply is not keyed. The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford lever does not operate at all; it is surface trim for an inactive leaf, sold as the interior pack only.

The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford lever meets ADA/ANSI A117.1 requirements and is ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 certified, but the lever does not rotate, so it does not serve an opening that has to be operated. For a working Grade 2 lever handleset, the Schlage Residential F60 Addison with Accent Lever is Grade 2 entrance function, and the Schlage Residential JI18/19 interconnected passage lock with Torino lever and keyed deadbolt is Grade 2 in passage function; both fit doors 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch.

Two finishes: Venetian Bronze and Matte Black. If you are matching other openings, pick whichever the exterior handleset pack is ordered in so the inside and outside read the same.

The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford is a Grade 2 certified interior lever trim pack for Kwikset handlesets. Among handleset peers built for thick doors, the Weslock 1411 Traditionale Colonial Handleset with Eleganti Knob covers 1-3/4 inch to 2-1/4 inch in single cylinder function, and the Yale Real Living BYRD226NRRX Assure Lock standalone touchscreen deadbolt with Ridgefield handleset also covers 1-3/4 inch to 2-1/4 inch.

The Baldwin Estates 6542 Tremont is entrance-function mortise entry trim for 1-3/4 inch doors, offered in single cylinder (6542ENTR) and double cylinder (6542DBLC) versions, so it works a live locking opening. The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford is an interior-only dummy trim with a fixed lever that installs with a screwdriver and must be paired with a Kwikset exterior pack bought separately.

The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford ships as the interior pack only and needs a Kwikset exterior pack ordered alongside it. Complete handleset alternatives include the Sure-Loc Aspen AN507 single cylinder keyed entry handleset with adjustable backset, the Sure-Loc Alta AT507 tubular handleset with adjustable backset, the Deltana 810871 Montego Handleset for 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch doors, and the Master Lock HDLB Series HDLBA0615/4D Grade 2 single cylinder deadbolt handleset in entrance function.

The Trafford KWI-968TDL is a mechanical non-functioning lever trim, so electronics are a different family. Yale Real Living pairs a touchscreen deadbolt with a Ridgefield handleset: the BYRD226CBARX runs Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for 1-3/4 inch to 2-1/4 inch doors, the BYRD226NRRX is standalone for the same range, and the BYRD256 CBARX is a key-free Wi-Fi version with a Ridgefield passage handleset and trim.

They are not interchangeable interior trims. The Baldwin Wesley handleset is sold configured with its interior grip, as the 180WYHXATK with the Alcott knob and the 180WYHXCYK with the Carnaby knob, both entrance function. The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford is a fully reversible non-functioning lever pack made to install with Kwikset handlesets.

A screwdriver. The interior trim mounts in minutes with no special tools, which is why it is a practical swap when a lever on an existing Kwikset handleset gets damaged or a finish needs updating.

The Trafford trim carries Microban antimicrobial product protection, which Kwikset states keeps the hardware 99.9 percent cleaner than unprotected surfaces. Useful on multi-family common entries where the lever gets touched constantly.

Deltana's solid brass entry handlesets cover that: the 803871B Hanover, 815871 St. Ann, and 825871 Kingston are all entry function in solid brass. The Kwikset KWI-968TDL Trafford differs in purpose - it is a non-functioning interior lever trim that carries Microban antimicrobial protection and is offered in Venetian Bronze and Matte Black.
