1) How does the LCN 4040SEH door holder release the door when the fire alarm goes off?
Loss of power is what releases it. The 4040SEH Sentronic holds the door open on a constant electrical current, and the instant that current is interrupted the holding mechanism lets go and the door closes on its own. You wire it into the building's fire alarm or life safety control system on either 24V or 120V AC/DC, so any alarm event that drops the circuit drops every held door with it.
