1) Will the Leviton LB120 20A breaker fit my existing panel, or does it only work in Leviton load centers?
The LB120 is a plug-on breaker, so it seats onto the bus of a compatible plug-on load center rather than bolting in. Leviton builds it for its own load center interiors, and that is the fit it is specified against. If your panel is another manufacturer's, or is a bolt-on panelboard, this is not the breaker for it. Check the label inside your panel door for the accepted breaker classification before ordering.
2) What is the difference between the Leviton LB120-T and LB120-S circuit breaker?
T and S are configuration options on the same 1-pole, 20-amp, 120-volt AC breaker, offered to match different panelboard interiors. The electrical ratings do not change between them. Order by the exact suffix your panel takes: LB120-T or LB120-S.
3) Does the Leviton LB120 have a high enough interrupting rating for my panel?
Short circuit current rating is 10 kiloamps. That covers the great majority of residential and light commercial services fed from a typical utility transformer. If your available fault current at the panel exceeds 10kA, which happens on larger commercial services close to the transformer, you need a higher-AIC breaker instead.
4) Is a 20 amp 1-pole breaker the right choice for a 240V circuit like a water heater or dryer?
No. The LB120 is a single-pole device rated 120 volts AC, so it lands on one hot leg and protects one 120V branch circuit: receptacles, lighting, a single appliance circuit. A 240-volt load needs a 2-pole breaker spanning both legs. Use the LB120 for general-purpose 20A branch circuits, not for 240V equipment.
