Leviton HDMI QuickPort Feed-Through Insert, White

The Leviton (41647-W) is a female-to-female HDMI feed-through QuickPort connector insert designed for Decora® QuickPort® wallplates and outlet systems. This white termination insert allows an HDMI cable to pass through a wallplate opening without cutting or re-terminating the connector, delivering a clean, professional-grade AV pass-through in residential and commercial installations. It is offered under two ordering options, model 40834-W-P and model 41647-W-P, giving installers flexibility when specifying replacement or additional inserts for a Decora QuickPort system.

Key Features

  • HDMI Feed-Through Design: Female-to-female termination insert passes an HDMI signal directly through the wallplate opening, eliminating the need to cut and re-terminate the HDMI cable.
  • QuickPort Compatible: Snaps securely into Leviton Decora® QuickPort® wallplates and outlet frames for fast, tool-free installation and future serviceability.
  • White Finish: Matches the broader Decora® QuickPort® device family for a clean, uniform appearance on any wallplate.
  • Available Model Options: Offered as model 40834-W-P and model 41647-W-P, providing ordering flexibility for the same feed-through function.
  • Space-Saving Insert Format: Fits standard QuickPort openings, allowing HDMI pass-through to be combined with other QuickPort inserts (data, voice, coax) on a single wallplate.

Why Leviton?

Leviton's Decora® QuickPort® system is a widely specified platform for modular low-voltage and AV wiring, and this HDMI feed-through insert extends that same snap-in convenience to HDMI pass-through applications. Choosing genuine Leviton QuickPort® inserts helps ensure consistent fit, finish, and long-term compatibility across a wallplate's full set of connector modules. With two model options available, installers can standardize on a single feed-through part number across a job while keeping the same clean white Decora® aesthetic.

Leviton 40834-W – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Leviton HDMI insert snap into a standard Decora QuickPort wallplate?
Yes. The HDMI insert is a QuickPort module and snaps into Leviton Decora QuickPort wallplates and outlet frames, tool-free. If you are already standardized on Decora QuickPort plates on a job, this drops into an open port on a plate you already have. It is the insert only, so the wallplate itself is a separate order.
2) What is the difference between Leviton 40834-W and 41647-W HDMI inserts?
Function is the same. Both are the white HDMI feed-through QuickPort insert, offered as two ordering options: 40834-W-P and 41647-W-P. Pick whichever number your spec or your existing part list already carries and standardize the job on it.
3) Can I put HDMI, data and coax on the same wallplate?
Yes. The HDMI feed-through takes one standard QuickPort opening, so on a multi-port Decora QuickPort plate you can mix it with data, voice and coax inserts in the remaining ports. That is the usual build for a TV wall or a conference room plate: one HDMI pass-through plus a data jack on a single plate.
4) Can I use the Leviton HDMI feed-through insert in a retrofit, or only new construction?
Both. Because the connector passes through rather than terminating, you can fish an existing HDMI cable to an old-work opening, plug it into the back of the insert and snap the module into the plate. New construction, structured wiring closets and AV distribution panels are the same story. The one thing to plan for is cable slack behind the wall, since the male plug has to reach the back of the insert.
5) What color is the Leviton HDMI QuickPort feed-through insert, and will it match my other Decora devices?
White, matching the rest of the Leviton Decora QuickPort device family. On a plate with mixed inserts the HDMI module reads the same as the white data and coax jacks beside it. If your building standard is ivory, light almond or black, this white version is the wrong one to order.
6) Is the HDMI QuickPort insert serviceable if the cable behind the wall fails?
Yes, and that is the practical argument for a feed-through over a terminated jack. The insert snaps out of the QuickPort plate without tools, so a failed in-wall HDMI run can be unplugged from the back and swapped without disturbing the plate, the box, or the other inserts sharing it. For a property manager running a fleet of conference rooms or units, that keeps a bad cable to a module swap.
