Leviton 80309-SGY – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does this Leviton screwless wallplate need screws or special tools to install?
No tools and no visible screws. It uses a snap-on mounting system, so the plate presses onto the mounting frame and pulls off the same way for device service. That also makes wallplate swaps in occupied units fast.
2) Will a Decora Plus screwless wallplate fit standard toggle switches?
It is a Decora Plus line plate, meant to cover Decora-style rocker switches and receptacles, not standard toggle switches. If the devices on the wall are traditional toggles, you need a toggle-opening plate instead.
3) Is a screwless snap-on wallplate durable enough for a commercial corridor or office buildout?
The plate is molded polycarbonate rather than standard thermoplastic, which resists chipping and cracking under repeated handling. It is listed for commercial office and retail buildouts along with residential work and facility maintenance.
4) I'm standardizing wallplates across a building. Can I mix gray and white Leviton Decora Plus plates?
Yes, both colors are the same polycarbonate snap-on Decora Plus plate, so the look and mounting method are identical room to room. Gray covers the 2-gang and white covers the 4-gang, so plan your color scheme around which gang counts each opening needs.
5) Does the screwless wallplate come with the mounting frame or bracket?
What is described here is the polycarbonate snap-on faceplate itself. A screwless Decora Plus plate snaps to a sub-plate or frame that mounts to the device, so confirm you have that component on hand before finishing out the opening.
