Leviton 2-Gang Duplex Receptacle Wallplate, Thermoplastic Nylon, Gray

The Leviton 2-Gang Duplex Receptacle Wallplate is molded from durable thermoplastic nylon and configured to cover two adjacent duplex receptacle openings in a single, clean device plate. Finished in Gray, this wallplate combines rigid, impact-resistant construction with a smooth finish that resists cracking, fading, and general wear over time. Its 2-gang layout makes it a practical choice anywhere two duplex outlets sit side by side, whether in a kitchen, office, workshop, or multi-outlet wall run.

Leviton 80716-T – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Leviton 80716 wallplate cover two duplex receptacles in one 2-gang box?
That is exactly what the 80716 is built for. It is a 2-gang plate with two duplex receptacle cutouts, so it covers two standard duplex outlets sitting side by side in a two-gang device box. It will not work over a switch, a decorator/rocker device, or a single-gang box; those need a different plate configuration.
2) Can I use this Leviton plate to replace cracked wallplates across an apartment building?
Yes, provided the openings are two-gang boxes with two duplex receptacles. The 80716 is a standard-size device plate with precision-formed duplex cutouts, so it drops onto existing two-gang installations in retrofit work as readily as new construction. Ordering a single color, most commonly Ivory (80716-I) or White (80716-W), keeps every unit matching as you work through the property.
3) Will the 80716 fit a decora or GFCI outlet?
No. The 80716 has duplex receptacle cutouts, the two round-cornered openings that match a standard duplex outlet. A GFCI, USB charger, or decorator rocker device needs a rectangular decorator opening instead, so you would need a 2-gang decorator plate for those. Check the device face before ordering, since mixed walls often have one duplex and one GFCI in the same box.
4) What colors does the Leviton 80716 duplex wallplate come in?
Six colors, each with its own part number: White (80716-W), Ivory (80716-I), Light Almond (80716-T), Gray (80716-GY), Black (80716-E), and Red (80716-R). Red is the one property managers and facility buyers usually pull for emergency or generator-backed circuits, so tenants and staff can tell at a glance which outlets stay live.
5) Is nylon or metal the better wallplate for a shop or warehouse wall?
Nylon is the usual call where moisture or washdown is a factor. The 80716 is molded thermoplastic nylon, so it will not rust or corrode the way a steel or brass plate can, and it takes impact without denting. Metal still makes sense where you need a grounded plate or a specific architectural look. For general receptacle runs in kitchens, offices, and workshops, the nylon plate is the low-maintenance choice.
6) Does the Leviton 80716 wallplate come with mounting screws?
The 80716 uses standard mounting screw holes for attachment to a two-gang device box with common installation hardware. Most electricians simply reuse the 6-32 screws that come with the receptacles themselves, or keep a box of them on the truck for bulk plate changeouts across a building.
