Its PVC jacket over the metal core keeps moisture out of the raceway. Plain FMC has no jacket and belongs in dry interior locations only. Both give you the flexibility a vibrating motor or equipment whip needs, so the jacket is the deciding factor.
4) What else do I need to order with a coil of 1/2 inch LFMC?
The conduit itself is the raceway only. You still need 1/2 inch liquidtight connectors, one at each termination, with sealing gland and locknut, plus conductors pulled separately. The bronze core and PVC jacket construction means the connector has to be a liquidtight type that grips and seals the jacket, not a standard flex connector.
5) Does this Thomas & Betts liquidtight conduit come in any color other than black?
The LTMES02B-K is supplied in black. If a job calls for a color-coded jacket (grey is the other common LFMC jacket color), that is a different part number, not an option on this one.
