It's 1 inch trade size liquid tight flexible metallic conduit, supplied in a 100 ft (30 m) coil. One coil covers a full run without couplings on most branch circuit pulls up to that length.

You need liquid tight connectors sized 1 inch, not standard steel flex (Greenfield) connectors. Liquidtight fittings use a sealing gland and gasket to keep water out at the box or enclosure; a dry flex connector will thread on but won't maintain the wet location seal. Fittings are ordered separately from the 100 ft coil.

Pull a separate equipment grounding conductor. Liquid tight flexible metallic conduit is only permitted as a ground path within narrow length and size limits, and on a 1 inch whip most inspectors expect the bonding conductor in the raceway. Size it to the overcurrent device protecting the circuit.

Galvanised steel core with a grey jacket over it. The steel strip construction is what gives it the crush resistance and physical protection a nonmetallic liquid tight run doesn't have, which matters where the whip is exposed to traffic, carts, or tools.

Grey jacketed liquid tight metallic conduit is the usual choice for equipment whips at condensers, rooftop units, and pumps, where the conduit has to flex with vibration and shed water. The galvanised steel core carries the physical protection. For runs in direct sun over long periods, confirm the jacket rating on the spec sheet for your installation before committing a full coil.

Go metallic when the whip needs mechanical protection: mechanical rooms, loading areas, floor level equipment, anywhere it can get stepped on or struck. The galvanised steel core resists crushing. Nonmetallic liquid tight is lighter, easier to bend by hand, and better where corrosion or chemical exposure is the concern rather than impact. This item is the metallic type.

Fill is calculated the same way as any raceway: total conductor cross sectional area against the conduit's internal area, 40 percent for three or more conductors. For a typical 1 inch LFMC whip that comfortably carries a set of 8 AWG or 6 AWG THHN plus a ground on a rooftop unit. Check the conductor sizes on your drawing against a fill table before you cut the coil.
