Thomas & Betts LTBUS11R-A LFMC SPLP UL 4IN RED 8M/25FT

The LTBUS11R-A is a 4 inch trade size liquid tight flexible metallic conduit supplied in a 25 ft (8 m) coil. One coil is one orderable unit, so a run longer than 25 feet needs multiple coils plus couplings.

It has a galvanized steel core under the liquidtight jacket, so it is metallic flexible conduit (LFMC), not the nonmetallic LFNC type. The steel core gives it crush resistance and lets the raceway itself carry mechanical protection; use metallic liquidtight fittings sized for 4 inch trade size to terminate it.

Red jacket is a color-coded identification choice, not a different construction. Contractors and facility electricians commonly reserve red liquidtight for fire alarm or life-safety circuits so the run is identifiable at a glance in a mechanical room or above a ceiling. The LTBUS11R-A carries the same galvanized steel core as standard liquidtight, just under a red jacket.

Liquidtight flexible metallic conduit is what you use for the final connection to equipment that vibrates or needs to be pulled for service, and where the raceway is exposed to wet conditions or washdown. Rigid or EMT handles the long straight run; the LTBUS11R-A takes the last few feet into the chiller, pump or large motor so vibration is not transmitted to the fixed raceway. At 4 inch trade size with a galvanized steel core, expect a large bend radius, so allow room at the equipment for the sweep.
