Lithonia Lighting CPHB MVOLT Compact Highbay

No voltage decision to make. The CPHB ships with a multi-volt driver rated 120-277V, so it wires to 120, 208, 240 or 277V single phase as found. All three lumen packages are MVOLT. It is a hardwired fixture, not cord-and-plug, so plan for a junction box or whip at each mounting point.

The three CPHB options differ in output and color temperature. CPHB 15LM MVOLT 40K is the 15,000 lumen nominal package at 4000K cool white. CPHB 18LM MVOLT 50K and CPHB 24LM MVOLT 50K step up in output and run 5000K. Pick 4000K where you want a warmer-looking white in offices, retail and common areas, 5000K for warehouse and manufacturing where crisper light is preferred. All three share the same housing and the same MVOLT driver.

The CPHB accepts chain, cable, a surface-mount bracket, pendant monopoint or hook monopoint, so it suits both suspended runs and tight-ceiling surface mounting. The listed mounting methods are pendant, surface and suspended. The hanging hardware itself (chain, cable kit, bracket, monopoint) is the accessory you order to match your ceiling, so sort that out with the fixture order.

Dimming is standard. The thermally protected driver is 0-10V dimming on every CPHB lumen package, so it pairs with a 0-10V low-voltage control, occupancy sensor with a 0-10V output, or a lighting control panel. Run the two low-voltage control conductors alongside the line feed. There is no phase-dimming or ELV option, so a standard wall dimmer will not work.

No battery is built in. If the CPHB has to serve as emergency egress lighting, the LED emergency driver is ordered separately as an add-on. For facilities where a portion of the high bays must stay lit on loss of power, plan which fixtures get the emergency driver before you order.

It is much more compact than a fluorescent high bay. The CPHB measures 14.4 in. long x 11.5 in. wide x 2.3 in. deep, so at 2.3 inches it clears low structure and tight joist spaces that a deep fluorescent or HID reflector would not. The white rectangular housing mounts off the same chain or cable points if your existing suspension layout stays.

The CPHB uses glare reduction optics with WhiteOptics technology, which spreads output while cutting the hot-spot glare you get from a bare-LED high bay, and the LEDs are 80 CRI. That combination is why it is called out for education, common areas, offices and retail as well as warehouses. For a gym or corridor the 4000K 15LM version keeps the appearance closer to typical interior white.

There is no relamping. The CPHB is a static LED fixture with an average life of 100,000 hours, holding 70 percent lumen maintenance past 100,000 hours. In a facility running two shifts that is well over a decade of service, which is the main reason MRO groups standardize on it over HID.

The CPHB is listed as CSA DLC Premium, which is the qualification tier most utility prescriptive rebate programs ask for on interior high bay retrofits. Submit the specific model you install, CPHB 15LM MVOLT 40K, 18LM MVOLT 50K or 24LM MVOLT 50K, with your rebate paperwork.
