The stainless steel connectors join to other Klein fish rods, and an adapter is included specifically to mate the lo-flex sections to Klein mid-flex and hi-flex rods. That adapter is there to keep the joint smooth so there is no shoulder to snag as you pull back through insulation or over a ceiling tile. Fit to other brands' rods is not something we can confirm.
