1) Which panic bars does the Lockey PBLHPS lever trim fit?
The PBLHPS lever trim is made for Lockey PB1100 and V40 series panic bars. It mounts on the outside of the door and retracts the latch through the device, so it is not a universal exit trim - pair it with those two Lockey series only.
2) Is the Lockey PBLHPS lever trim keyed or does it lock the door from outside?
It is passage trim, non-keyed. The lever always retracts the latch, so there is no way to lock out entry from the exterior with this trim. Use it where the opening stays unlocked during occupied hours - offices, hallways, public corridors. If you need to secure the outside of the door, this is the wrong trim.
3) Do I still need the panic bar, or does this lever trim work on its own?
The lever trim is an add-on only. It has no latch of its own and does nothing without a Lockey PB1100 or V40 panic bar on the inside of the door to carry the latching. Order the exit device separately; this part gives you outside lever access through it.
4) How much room does the Lockey PBLHPS lever trim need on the door face?
The trim measures 6 x 3-1/4 x 2-3/4 inches. Check that footprint against your stile and against anything close to the door edge, like a glass stop or an astragal, before you drill.
5) Should I use a lever passage trim or a pull handle on my exit device?
A lever like the PBLHPS retracts the latch from outside, so people can pull the door open without going around. A dummy pull only gives you something to grab and leaves the door secured or free-swinging depending on the device. If the opening needs two-way traffic all day and never needs to be locked from outside, the passage lever is the right call.
6) What is the PBLHPS trim made of and what does it look like?
Body substrate is stainless steel, supplied in an aluminum finish, with a lever handle rather than a pull or knob. One configuration only, so there is no finish or handing choice to specify on the order.
