Generac 5720 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Generac generators does the 5720 maintenance kit fit?
The Generac 5720 kit is built for the 530cc engine used in the XP10000E and XG10000E portable generators. If your unit is a different displacement, it's the wrong kit, because the air filter and spark plugs are sized to that engine.
2) What exactly comes in the Generac 5720 generator tune-up kit?
Two spark plugs, an air filter, an oil filter, an oil funnel, a chamois, and a maintenance reminder. The product description also lists fuel stabilizer with the kit contents.
3) Do I need any tools to do the service, or does the kit include a spark plug wrench?
No wrench or plug socket is in the Generac 5720 kit, so bring your own spark plug wrench and an oil filter wrench. The oil filter is a spin-on canister type, so a standard spin-on filter wrench or strap works.
4) Does the Generac 5720 kit include engine oil?
No oil is packed with it. The kit covers the hard parts and consumables (air filter, spin-on oil filter, two spark plugs, fuel stabilizer, chamois) plus a funnel for pouring, so order oil separately to complete the service.
5) Why does a single-cylinder generator kit come with two spark plugs?
The 5720 kit ships with two plugs, which gives you a spare for the next interval or covers a twin-plug setup on the 530cc engine. Either way you are not buying plugs again at the next service.
6) I stock service kits for a rental fleet - how much shelf space does one Generac 5720 kit take?
Each kit boxes up at 8.75 inches wide by 8.75 inches deep by 4.75 inches high and weighs 1.3 lbs, so a shelf of them stacks easily on a service van or parts rack.
How fast can I get the Generac 5720 delivered?
