1) Will the Master Lock 6271 padlock fit a standard hasp or chain link?
The shackle opening on the 6271 is small by design, since the body swallows the shackle. You get 3/8 inch (10mm) shackle diameter, 1-23/32 inch (44mm) clearance width, and 19/32 inch of shackle length exposed. That works on a heavy shrouded hasp or a trailer/container lock bar sized for a hidden shackle lock, but it will not reach around a thick chain or a tall staple. Measure the loop before ordering.
2) Can I replace an old Master Lock A2000 or A2001 with the 6271?
Yes. The 6271 Pro Series hidden shackle padlock is the stated replacement for the A2000 and A2001. Same hidden shackle format, so it drops into the same hasps and lock bars those were mounted on.

It uses a rekeyable 6-pin cylinder with spool pins. A locksmith can repin it in the field, so if a key walks off the site you rekey the lock rather than buying a new one. The spool pins are what resist picking.
