1) What size Milbank GEU universal end fitting do I need for my wireway run?
Match the fitting to the cross section of the wireway trough. The Milbank GEU universal end fitting comes in 2x2, 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10 and 12x12, ordered as 22GEU, 44GEU, 66GEU, 88GEU, 1010GEU and 1212GEU. If your trough is 6 by 6 inch screw cover wireway, the 66GEU is the end you want.
2) Can I use this Milbank end fitting outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The GEU end fitting is a Type 1 indoor enclosure rating only, so it belongs in dry, indoor locations. For exterior walls, parking structures or anywhere exposed to rain or hose-down, you need a raintight wireway and matching fittings, not this one.
3) What is the difference between the GEU, GEU-NK and GEU-NK-NP versions?
Three build options on the Milbank universal end fitting. The plain part number, such as 1010GEU, ships with knockouts and painted finish. The -NK suffix (1010GEU-NK) deletes the knockouts so you get a solid end you can drill where you want it. The -NK-NP suffix (1010GEU-NK-NP) deletes both knockouts and paint, leaving bare steel, which is what you order when the fitting is being finished or coated to a job spec.
4) Which Milbank GEU sizes are available without knockouts?
The no-knockout builds do not run across every size. Solid ends with no knockouts and no paint are offered in 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10 and 12x12 (44GEU-NK-NP, 66GEU-NK-NP, 88GEU-NK-NP, 1010GEU-NK-NP, 1212GEU-NK-NP), and painted no-knockout ends in 6x6, 10x10 and 12x12 (66GEU-NK, 1010GEU-NK, 1212GEU-NK). The 2x2 is offered with knockouts and paint only, as 22GEU.
5) Is the Milbank GEU wireway end fitting UL Listed for a commercial inspection?
Yes, it is UL Listed, and the enclosure rating is NEMA Type 1. That covers the usual indoor commercial and institutional work where the inspector wants a listed fitting on a listed wireway.
6) What actually comes in the box with a Milbank GEU end fitting?
One fitting. The GEU is sold as the end closure piece for a screw cover wireway system, not as a kit with trough or couplings, so order the trough sections, couplings and any hangers separately.
7) Do I need a screw cover wireway for this fitting, or will it work on hinged cover trough?
The GEU is built as a screw cover fitting, so it is meant to go on screw cover wireway where the cover lifts off after removing the fasteners. If your run uses hinged cover trough, source the end fitting from that hinged cover line instead so the cover profile lines up.
