No main breaker ships in the U4323-O. The unit carries a main breaker provision but zero breakers installed, so the main and the six branch breakers are a separate order. Plan the load center fill around 6 branch circuits at 200 continuous amps, single phase, up to 240 volts AC.
2) Can I use this Milbank pedestal meter socket for an overhead service drop?
No. The U4323-O is built for underground cable entry and mounts on a direct bury pedestal, and the top is a plain top with no hub opening for a riser. For an overhead drop you want an overhead-fed socket with a hub or hub opening in the top, wall mounted rather than pedestal.
3) What is the difference between the U4323-O-BL and the U4323-O-5T9 versions?
Two build options on the U4323-O. The BL adds a 9/16 inch knockout and angle bracket for a barrel lock, which is what most utilities require to lock the cover. The 5T9 adds a 5th terminal in the 9 o'clock position with a stabilizer foot, which is the neutral terminal arrangement some utilities specify. Your utility's meter spec dictates which one you order, and ordering the wrong terminal count means the meter does not get set.
4) Will one Milbank U4323-O pedestal meter a duplex or two units?
No. It is a single meter position socket, one tenant. For a duplex or a small multi-family building where each unit is separately billed you need a multi-position meter pack or a second pedestal, one per meter.
