Klein Tools 62201MB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much weight can the Klein Tools 62201MB MODbox backpack hold?
Klein rates the 62201MB MODbox Electrician's Backpack to a 50 lb load limit. The bag itself weighs 9 lbs empty, so plan your loadout around that ceiling if you're carrying meters, drivers, and a cordless tool together.
2) Does the MODbox backpack lock onto the MODbox mobile workstation, or is it a standalone bag?
It's part of the MODbox system. The 62201MB connects directly to Klein's MODbox Mobile Workstation and other MODbox components, and the components lock together and release with one hand, so you can stack it on a cart for the walk in and pull it off at the panel.
3) What are the outside dimensions of the Klein 62201MB backpack for fitting it in a van bin or gang box?
Measure for 20.5 in (52.1 cm) overall height, 14.5 in (36.8 cm) overall length, and 10 in (25.4 cm) overall width. The bottom is hard molded, so the footprint doesn't compress to squeeze into a tight shelf.
4) How many pockets does the Klein MODbox electrician's backpack have, and how are they split?
32 pockets total: 27 inside and 5 on the exterior, plus an open interior area sized for large hand tools. There's also a tape loop that takes any standard roll of electrical tape.
5) Can I set the Klein 62201MB backpack down on wet concrete or gravel?
Yes. The body is 1680d ballistic weave that's water resistant, and the bottom is fully molded polypropylene, so setting it on a wet slab or in a gravel lot won't soak through or abrade the fabric base. The back padding extends over that hard bottom for carry comfort.
6) Can this Klein backpack be padlocked on a jobsite?
The main compartment closes with a zipper and the pulls are built to accept a lock. The padlock is not supplied, so add a small travel-size padlock to your order if you need the bag secured in a shared trailer or gang box.
7) Which Klein headlamp fits the bracket on the 62201MB backpack?
The headlamp bracket takes Klein Tools headlamp Cat. Nos. 56062 or 56049, which mount to light either the inside of the bag or the work area in front of you. The headlamp is a separate purchase.
8) Is there a way to charge or run a phone cable inside this tool backpack?
Yes. The 62201MB has a cord pass-through so you can keep a phone or other device connected to a power bank inside the bag. There's also a hard molded front pocket for a phone or safety glasses so they don't get crushed against tools.
9) What part number do I order for the Klein MODbox electrician's backpack?
Order Klein Tools catalog number 62201MB. That single model is the MODbox Electrician's Backpack; there are no size or color variations of it.
10) What color is the Klein 62201MB MODbox backpack, and does it have carry handles besides the straps?
Black with orange accents, and it has padded handles in addition to the backpack straps for grabbing it out of a truck bed or handing it up a ladder.
