Mustee 63M – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Mustee 63M mop basin work with a 3 inch drain line?
Yes. The 63M is built for 3 inch DWV, so it drops onto standard 3 inch drain, waste and vent pipe with no adapter or reducer on the outlet. If the rough-in under your janitor closet slab is 2 inch, this is the wrong basin for that opening.
2) What size floor space does the Mustee 63M mop service basin take up?
The 63M measures 24 x 24 x 10 inches, so it needs a 24 inch square of clear floor in the janitor closet and stands 10 inches at the curb. That footprint matters more than the volume on a retrofit, since most closets were framed for a specific basin and a 24 inch square is the common commercial size.
3) What part number do I order for the 24x24 Mustee mop basin for 3 inch DWV?
Order Mustee model 63M. That is the manufacturer part number, and it identifies the 24 x 24 x 10 basin configured for a 3 inch DWV drain. There is no separate size or drain option to specify with it.
4) Does a mop service basin replace a floor sink, or do I need both?
They do different jobs. A mop service basin like the 63M sits on the floor with a raised curb so a mop bucket can be filled and dumped without splashing onto the closet floor, and it drains through a 3 inch DWV connection. A floor sink is a flush receptor for indirect waste from equipment, not a wash station. If the closet is for custodial use with a bucket and a service faucet, the basin is what you want.
5) Is the Mustee 63M mop sink white, and will it match the other janitor closets in my building?
White. Mustee finishes the 63M in white, which is the standard color for mop service basins in commercial janitor closets, so it reads the same as the units already installed on your other floors.
