Metallics MNK2 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Metallics MNK2 come with the washer, or do I order that separately?
The washer is part of the MNK2. It ships as a 2-flute masonry nail with a fender washer, so there is no separate washer line to add.
2) What is the Metallics MNK2 masonry nail used for?
The MNK2 is a fluted masonry nail supplied with a fender washer, used to fasten straps, clips, boxes and similar electrical mounting items to concrete, block or brick. The flutes bite the masonry as the nail drives, and the wide fender washer spreads the clamping load over sheet metal or soft materials so the head does not pull through.
3) Can I use the Metallics MNK2 nail in drywall or wood framing instead of masonry?
No. It is a masonry nail, meant to be driven into concrete, block or brick. For wood framing or drywall, use a wood screw or a drywall anchor instead; a fluted masonry nail will not hold reliably in either.
4) Is the MNK2 masonry nail ordered by model number?
Yes. Metallics sells it under a single part number, MNK2, with no finish or size options to pick.
