Either of those is the safer specification when the drawing calls out a rated assembly.
6) I need a threshold for a 3-hour rated door opening. Is the NGP 655 the right part?
For an opening that has to carry a 3-hour positive pressure fire rating, the Cal-Royal CR3700 saddle threshold series is built for it. The NGP 655 is a commercial offset hung aluminum saddle at 5-1/2 inches wide by 3/4 inch tall with a fluted walking surface, specified for commercial traffic and traction rather than for a stated fire rating.
