NSi Industries Standard Duty Silicon Bronze Grounding Rod Clamp, GRC Series

The NSi Industries Standard Duty Silicon Bronze Grounding Rod Clamp, GRC Series, is engineered for demanding grounding applications including direct burial in earth or concrete. This family of clamps is available in two ground rod / rebar configurations — 3/4" Rod / 5/8" Rebar and 5/8" Rod / 1/2" Rebar — giving installers a matched clamp for the electrode diameter on site. Every clamp in the GRC-SB family shares the same silicon bronze body and clamping screw construction for maximum strength, and each is UL-listed for direct burial in earth or concrete, making the series a dependable choice for grounding electrode connections.

Key Features

  • Ground Rod / Rebar Fit: Choose the configuration that matches your electrode — 3/4" Rod / 5/8" Rebar or 5/8" Rod / 1/2" Rebar — with room to tighten the clamping screw securely onto the rod or rebar.
  • Conductor Range: Accommodates 10 AWG solid to 2 AWG stranded conductors, giving installers flexibility in field wiring across the family.
  • Durable Construction: Silicon bronze body and tightening screw (-SB suffix) deliver durable strength for demanding, corrosive, or underground grounding environments.
  • Standard Duty Design: A simple mechanical design with reliable clamping power from the screw outperforms other clamping options for everyday grounding tasks.
  • Direct Burial Rated: Every configuration is UL-listed for direct burial in earth or concrete, ideal for underground grounding electrode connections.
  • Field Application: Purpose-built for grounding connections in electrical systems, from new construction to retrofit grounding upgrades.

NSi NSIGRC58 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which NSi GRC ground rod clamp do I need for a 5/8 inch ground rod?
Order the GRC58. The NSi GRC Series comes in two electrode configurations: GRC58 fits a 5/8 inch rod or 1/2 inch rebar, and GRC34 fits a 3/4 inch rod or 5/8 inch rebar. Since 5/8 inch is the most common driven ground rod diameter on residential and light commercial jobs, GRC58 is the one most installers pull. Pick by the actual electrode you are clamping to, not by the conductor size.
2) Can an NSi GRC clamp be buried directly in earth or encased in concrete?
Yes. Every configuration in the GRC Series is UL Listed for direct burial in earth or concrete, so the clamp can go on a driven rod below grade or on rebar before a pour without a hand hole or access box.
3) What size grounding conductor fits an NSi GRC rod clamp?
The conductor range is 10 AWG solid through 2 AWG stranded across the GRC family. That covers the usual #6 bare copper run to a driven rod as well as a #4 or #2 bonding jumper. Anything larger than 2 AWG needs a different clamp.
4) Can I use the GRC clamp on rebar instead of a driven ground rod?
Yes, both versions are rated for rebar as well as rod. GRC34 takes 5/8 inch rebar, GRC58 takes 1/2 inch rebar. That makes either one usable for a concrete-encased electrode connection, since the clamp is UL Listed for burial in concrete.
5) Will a bronze ground clamp hold up in wet or corrosive soil?
The GRC body and clamping screw are both silicon bronze, which is why the clamp carries the direct burial listing. Using a bronze clamp on a copper-bonded rod with a copper conductor also keeps you to compatible metals underground instead of mixing in steel or plated parts that corrode at the joint.
6) Is there one GRC clamp that fits both 5/8 and 3/4 inch rods?
No. The GRC Series is sold as two separate fits, so you have to match the clamp to the electrode: GRC34 for 3/4 inch rod, GRC58 for 5/8 inch rod. If a facility has a mix of rod diameters, stock both part numbers rather than trying to force one clamp onto the wrong rod, which is where loose connections and failed inspections come from.
7) Does the NSi GRC clamp come with the tightening screw, or is that separate?
The clamping screw is part of the clamp and is silicon bronze like the body, so nothing extra is required beyond the clamp itself. Installation is mechanical: set the clamp on the rod or rebar, lay the conductor in, and tighten the screw down.
8) Where is the NSi GRC ground rod clamp manufactured?
Country of origin on the GRC Series is India. Buyers with domestic-content requirements on a public project should note that before specifying it.
