Metallics JNM06Y Nut M6 Hx Nut St-Yel-Zn (Jar 100)

The JNM06Y is an M6 hex nut, so it threads onto M6 metric bolts, screws, and threaded rod. Standard M6 coarse thread is a 1.0 mm pitch, which is what you get on general-purpose metric rod and bolts. It will not thread onto any inch-series fastener, so if your rod is 1/4-20 you need an inch nut instead.

Steel with a yellow zinc finish. Yellow zinc gives better corrosion resistance than bright/clear zinc in damp indoor and sheltered conditions, which is why it shows up on electrical rough-in hardware. For continuous outdoor exposure, wet locations, or coastal work, stainless is the better call.

100 nuts per jar, and the jar is the pack format rather than a bulk box or bag. That is a service-van or shop-shelf quantity: the screw-top jar keeps the count contained on a truck instead of loose in a bin.

That is the intended use. The JNM06Y is stocked as electrical fastener hardware, so it is meant for the metric side of rough-in work: securing M6 rod or bolts through strut, box brackets, fixture hangers, and similar supports. Note that most North American strut and hanger rod is inch-series (1/4-20 or 3/8-16); confirm your rod is metric before buying M6.

A plain hex nut, not a locking nut. There is no nylon insert or distorted thread, so on a vibrating load (motor mounts, equipment platforms) you will want a lock washer, a second jam nut, or a thread locker to keep it from backing off.
