1) Can I use an 8-32 brass nut to secure a ground wire to a box with a 10-32 ground screw?
No. Standard green grounding screws in outlet and device boxes are 10-32, and an 8-32 nut will not thread onto a 10-32 screw. The JN160BR is 8-32 only, 32 threads per inch at the 8 diameter. Order the 8-32 nut for 8-32 studs and screws, and a 10-32 nut for box ground screws.
