NUVO Lighting 60-2646 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) What bulbs does the NUVO 60-2646 12-inch flush mount take, and are they included?
It takes two E26 medium base A19 lamps, rated 60W each, and no bulbs come in the box. Order lamps separately. Dimming depends entirely on the lamp you install, so if you want it on a dimmer, choose a dimmable A19.
    2) Can the NUVO 60-2646 mushroom ceiling fixture go in a bathroom or laundry room?
It carries a damp location rating and is listed for indoor use, so a bathroom ceiling outside the shower enclosure or a laundry room is within rating. It is not a wet location fixture, so keep it out of exposed exterior or direct-spray positions.
    3) Can I put LED bulbs in the NUVO 60-2646 instead of incandescent?
The fixture is built as an incandescent luminaire with two E26 medium sockets, 60W maximum per socket. Any A19-shape LED with a medium base and a rated wattage at or below 60W drops straight in. Because dimming is lamp dependent, a dimmable LED is required if the fixture runs on a dimmer switch.
    4) How much ceiling space and headroom does a 12-inch NUVO close-to-ceiling fixture need?
The fixture is 12 inches in diameter and projects 6 inches from the ceiling. In a hallway, closet, or low-ceiling bedroom that 6-inch drop keeps it clear of traffic. It is a ceiling-mounted close-to-ceiling design, not a pendant or recessed unit.
    5) Is the NUVO 60-2646 light enough for a standard ceiling box with no extra bracing?
At 2.51 lbs the fixture is well under the 50 lb limit a standard listed ceiling outlet box supports, so no added bracing or a fan-rated box is needed. Body is steel with a champagne linen glass shade.
    6) Is this NUVO flush mount UL listed and suitable for multi-family or commercial common area spec?
The 60-2646 is cULus safety listed for the US and Canada and is RoHS compliant, running on 120V line voltage. Note the California Prop 65 disclosure for lead, which matters if you are bidding work in California.
