NUVO Lighting 60-6579 Indie, 1-Light, Small Wall Sconce, Textured Black Finish with Clear Seeded Glass

The Indie small wall sconce takes one medium-base E26 lamp in an A19 shape, rated up to 60W, and no bulb ships with the fixture. Plan on supplying lamps separately, which is the usual approach on a multi-unit job where you want one lamp spec across every room. Dimming depends entirely on the lamp you install, so if the room is on a dimmer, buy a dimmable A19.

It is a small fixture: 5 inches wide, 13 inches tall, with a 5-1/2 inch extension off the wall. That height is the number to watch when you are flanking a mirror or stacking it in a narrow hallway, and the 5-1/2 inch projection is what decides whether it clears a door swing or a traffic path. At 4.75 lbs it is light enough for a standard wall box mount.

No. The Indie small wall sconce is not ADA compliant, and its 5-1/2 inch projection exceeds the 4 inch maximum allowed for objects mounted between 27 and 80 inches above the floor in an accessible route. For corridors and stairwells under ADA review, specify a shallow ADA sconce instead. In a guest room, bath, or over a vanity, where the fixture is not in a circulation path, it is not an issue.

It carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers both US and Canadian installations, and runs on 120V, so it drops onto standard residential and light commercial branch circuits with no transformer or driver. The fixture is also RoHS compliant. Note the California Prop 65 disclosure for lead, which matters if you are specifying into a California project with its own reporting requirements.

The 60-6579 is the small Indie sconce, and it is sold in textured black with clear seeded glass only. There is no second finish choice on this model, so if you need a different color or a bigger fixture you are ordering a different Indie part number rather than an option on this one.

Incandescent technology, meaning the fixture itself has no integral LED and no onboard driver. It is a socket, so you choose the light source: a 60W incandescent A19, or an LED A19 with an E26 base at whatever color temperature your spec calls for. That is an advantage on an MRO basis, since relamping is a stock bulb instead of replacing the whole fixture. The fixture has no selectable CCT of its own, so color temperature is entirely the lamp's.
