NUVO Lighting 60-6980 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) How low can the NUVO Barrique 60-6980 pendant hang, and what rods come with it?
The Barrique 5-light pendant mounts on rods and reaches a maximum overall height of 44.75 inches. It ships with two 6-inch rods and two 12-inch rods, so you can stack them to suit the ceiling, plus 12 feet of supply wire. Fixture body itself is 8.75 inches tall and 24 inches in diameter.
    2) What bulbs do I need to order with the NUVO 60-6980 Barrique pendant?
Bulbs are not included. You need five lamps with an E26 medium base, A19 shape, rated 60W max each on 120V. That means 300W total on the circuit if you lamp it at full wattage. LED A19 retrofits in an E26 base work fine and cut that load considerably.
    3) Is the NUVO Barrique pendant okay for a covered porch or a bathroom over a tub?
No. The Barrique 60-6980 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only. Keep it out of covered entries, porches, bathrooms with shower spray, and laundry areas where it would see moisture. Those openings need a damp- or wet-rated pendant instead.
    4) Is the Barrique 5-light pendant listed for commercial installs?
It carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers it for both US and Canadian installation, and it is RoHS compliant. Note the California Prop 65 disclosure for lead, which matters if you are specifying into a California project with disclosure requirements.
    5) Will the 24-inch Barrique pendant work over a kitchen island or a dining table?
The 24-inch diameter and 8.75-inch body suit a single pendant over a dining table or the middle of a smaller island. Over a long island, one 24-inch round fixture generally will not cover it, you would run two smaller pendants in a row instead. Rod mounting means it hangs plumb, so it is not an option for a sloped ceiling unless the canopy accommodates the pitch.
    6) What finish does the NUVO 60-6980 come in?
One finish combination: black with honey wood. It is from the Barrique collection in a transitional style, so the wood tone reads warm against the black steel frame and tends to coordinate with oil-rubbed or matte black plumbing and cabinet hardware already in the space.
    7) Is there enough supply wire in the Barrique pendant for a high ceiling?
12 feet of wire comes with it (144 inches), which is more than enough lead for any rod configuration the fixture supports. The hanging height is limited by the rods, not the wire: maximum overall height is 44.75 inches using the supplied two 6-inch and two 12-inch rods.
