NUVO Lighting 60-6993 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) What bulbs do I need for the NUVO Cirrus 60-6993 8-light chandelier?
You supply the lamps; none come in the carton. It takes eight candelabra-base (E12) bulbs in a Type B shape, rated up to 60W each on a 120V circuit. Dimming depends entirely on the lamp you choose, so if the room is on a dimmer, buy dimmable candelabra lamps.
    2) Can I install the Cirrus 60-6993 chandelier in a covered porch or bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so a covered porch, a shower area, or anywhere it can see damp or moisture is out of scope. Use it in living rooms, dining rooms, foyers, and hallways. For a bath, pick a fixture carrying a damp rating.
    3) How much space does this 8-light chandelier take up, and will a standard ceiling box hold it?
The Cirrus measures 19.5 inches wide by 19.5 inches high and weighs 3.63 lbs. That is light for an 8-light fixture, well within what a standard listed ceiling outlet box supports, and the compact 19.5 inch diameter suits a small dining table, a bedroom, or a stair landing rather than a large great room.
    4) Is the NUVO Cirrus chandelier safety listed for commercial or multi-family installs?
It carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers both US and Canadian requirements, and it is RoHS compliant. Note the dry-location limit when specifying it for corridors or units. California buyers should also know it is flagged under Prop 65 for lead.
    5) Can I put LED candelabra bulbs in the Cirrus instead of incandescent?
The fixture is built around incandescent technology with eight E12 sockets rated 60W maximum, so any candelabra lamp at or under that wattage fits, including LED equivalents. It is not a CCT-selectable fixture, so whatever color temperature you buy in the lamp is what the room gets. If you want dimming, the lamp has to be dimmable.
    6) What is the Cirrus chandelier made of and what do the glass rods look like?
Steel frame with glass, finished in polished nickel, and the rods are clear glass. The look is contemporary rather than traditional crystal, so it pairs with chrome or nickel plumbing and cabinet hardware in a modern room. Polished nickel is the only finish offered in the 60-6993.
