NUVO Lighting 60-7369 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO Bayard 60-7369 swing arm lamp be hardwired, or does it only plug in?
Both. The Bayard 60-7369 ships with all the hardware to set it up as a portable plug-in fixture or to convert it to direct wire, so one part covers either install. It includes a 6 inch and a 12 inch rod, and the cord measures 72 inches if you run it as a plug-in.
    2) How far does the Bayard swing arm lamp stick out from the wall?
Extension is 25.25 inches at full reach, with an 8 inch width and 13.38 inch height. That is a long swing for a bedside or reading position, so allow clearance from nightstands, door swings, and anything on an adjacent wall before you set the mounting height.
    3) What bulb does the NUVO 60-7369 Bayard take, and is one in the box?
It takes one A19 incandescent-style bulb with an E26 medium base, rated up to 60W at 120V. No bulb is included, so order lamps separately. The fixture is not dimmable, so putting a dimmable LED in it does not make the fixture dim.
    4) Can I use this swing arm lamp in a bathroom or on a covered porch?
No. The Bayard 60-7369 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so keep it out of bathrooms near a shower, covered exterior porches, and any damp or wet area. For those spots you need a fixture with a damp or wet location rating.
    5) Is this NUVO swing arm sconce ADA compliant for a corridor or guest room in a hotel?
No. The Bayard 60-7369 is not ADA compliant, and with a 25.25 inch extension it projects well past what a protruding-object limit allows in a circulation path. Use it inside a room away from walkways, and specify an ADA sconce for corridors.
    6) Does the Bayard 60-7369 have its own switch, or do I need a wall switch?
The fixture has an integral switch, so it can be operated at the lamp without a switched circuit. That is what makes the plug-in setup practical in a guest room or an apartment where there is no sconce box or wall switch at the bed.
    7) Can the Bayard 60-7369 mount on a ceiling as well as a wall?
Mounting is listed for ceiling or wall. The body is steel and the fixture weighs 3.37 lbs, so a standard box with a rated strap handles it in either orientation. The included 6 inch and 12 inch rods let you set the drop or standoff.
    8) Is this NUVO fixture safety listed for a commercial multi-family install?
The Bayard 60-7369 carries a cETLus safety listing, covering both US and Canadian requirements. Note it is a dry location, indoor fixture and it is not ADA compliant, so place it accordingly within the unit.
    9) Does the 60-7369 come in finishes other than matte black?
Matte black is the finish offered for the 60-7369, with the shade black outside and white inside. Other finishes in the Bayard collection carry their own NUVO item numbers.
    10) Does this NUVO lamp require a Prop 65 warning for jobs in California?
Yes. Lead is listed as a CA Prop 65 chemical for the Bayard 60-7369, so a California job needs the warning carried through on your submittals and documentation.
