NUVO Lighting 65-575R1 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Will the NUVO 65-575R1 2x2 flat panel drop into a standard 2ft x 2ft suspended ceiling grid?
The panel measures 23.75 x 23.75 inches, which is the nominal size that sits in a 2 ft by 2 ft grid opening. Depth is 3.06 inches, so you need at least that much clearance above the grid, plus room for the emergency battery housing. It weighs 7.94 lbs, light enough for standard grid with the usual safety support wires. Mounting is ceiling.
    2) What wattage and color temperature options does the NUVO 65-575R1 emergency panel give you, and are they set at the fixture?
Wattage is field selectable at 20W, 30W or 40W, with output running 2200 to 4600 lumens across those settings. Color temperature is selectable at the fixture as well (ColorQuick). Both are switch selections on the unit, so one part number covers an office at 3500K and a corridor at 4000K without stocking separate SKUs.
    3) Can I run this 2x2 LED panel on 120V and 277V circuits in the same building?
Yes. The driver accepts 100V through 277V, so the same panel works on 120V tenant circuits and 277V house panels. That is the PowerQuick feature, and it is why a single part number can standardize across mixed voltage floors.
    4) Does the NUVO 65-575R1 flat panel have a built-in emergency battery, so I don't need separate egress fixtures?
It is an LED emergency backlit flat panel, with the emergency function integrated into the fixture rather than supplied by a separate battery unit. That lets the panel itself carry illuminated egress duty in the space it lights. The LED board is integrated, so there is no lamp to replace.
    5) Can this NUVO emergency panel go in a bathroom or a covered parking garage?
Damp location rated and indoor only. A restroom, a locker room, or a covered walkway that stays dry underfoot is fine. Anywhere exposed to direct water or weather needs a wet location rated fixture instead. Safety listing is cETLus.
    6) Will the light quality from this NUVO panel match the other panels in my office ceiling?
CRI is 80+, which is the standard rendering level for commercial office and corridor lighting, so it will visually sit alongside typical troffers and panels. Because the color temperature is selectable at the fixture, you can set it to the same CCT as the neighboring fixtures instead of hunting for a matching SKU. Finish is white.
    7) What is the housing made of on the NUVO 65-575R1, and how much lead wire do I get for the whip connection?
Housing is aluminum and steel. Wire length is 3.54 inches, so plan on a junction box or flex whip close to the fixture; there is not enough lead to reach a distant box. Note the Prop 65 chemical listing for lead, which matters for California jobs that require disclosure.
    8) Is the 65-575R1 panel dimmable, and will it work with the 0-10V controls already in my building?
The panel is dimmable. Confirm the control protocol against the driver label before you commit a lighting control zone to it, since the dimming method is what has to match your existing controller.
    9) How long will these LED panels last before a facility has to budget replacement?
Rated at 50,000 hours average life. On a 12-hour-a-day office schedule that is roughly 11 years of operation. Since the LED is integrated, there is no relamping along the way, which is the main maintenance argument for swapping troffers out for panels.
    10) Is the NUVO 65-575R1 RoHS compliant for a green building or sustainable procurement spec?
Yes, it is RoHS compliant, and it is an all-LED fixture with no lamp to dispose of over its service life. For a sustainability spec, the selectable wattage also lets you tune installed load down to 20W per 2x2 opening rather than specifying a fixed higher wattage fixture.
